Biblical vs LDS Christianity

What is the difference in Biblical Christianity and Mormon Christianity? Why do LDS choose the KJV of the Bible when they have the Book of Mormon?

Some of the answers already shared started out wrong. I am here to untangle the thread.

If somebody studied the Bible in an attempt to figure out what pleases God, they read the Bible and they come up with something. Most likely they will not be totally correct nor totally wrong. Yet if they "follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent" during and after their search and study, they are living Biblical Christianity. In other words, biblical Christianity seeks truth using the Bible.

LDS Christianity is not that. Their beliefs may have some principles that are accidentally found in the Bible, but that is not where they derive their system of theology. They are completely reliant on their Living Oracles. They would be just fine if every member made a commitment never to carry, read or study the Bible for the rest of their lives. This actually goes for the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price, too, so don't be offended that I addressed Bible study.

The second part of your question is kinda answered addressing the first part. In the final analysis they don't really choose one nor the other.

You could read a random scripture and ask them in which book, Bible or Book of Mormon, it is found they would probably not be able to tell you which.

Notice how many LDSaints on Quora write something like "I have been in the Church for 25 years and have read the Book of Mormon twice" as if that is some accomplishment. See how often the fly to early Apostate Church Fathers to establish doctrine that they cannot with the Bible nor Book of Mormon.

Ask them what comes first, Romans or Galatians and they will not be able to tell you. Ask them what book Hebrews is in and likely they will tell you the Old Testament. Scripture study is not what most people think it is in the LDS Church. They do not study the scriptures but study "Gospel Doctrine". They refer to the scriptures only insofar as there is some tidbit written that will reinforce "Gospel Doctrine", no matter how sketchy is the interpretation. They are guided past passages that would contradict the Living Oracles.

To each his own, I guess. But if the above view of what constitutes Biblical Christianity and LDS Christianity is correct, then the two "Christianities" are completely different in their foundation.

Quora LDSaints rarely agree with me, but I think they will all give me a thumbs up on this observation.
