Pandemic Come Follow

The following are thoughts responding to those who think the “Come Follow Me” is proof of prophetic abilities.

When the Prophet acted in regards to the pandemic by concocting the "Come Follow Me" for the Book of Mormon, were those printed guides given to all members along with a copy of the Book of Mormon? No. Why not? Everyone had the Book of Mormon.

Why couldn't the curriculum for the year be, I don't know, reading the Book of Mormon? Why does the leadership think that members, who supposedly have the Gift of the Holy Ghost, need a commentary, especially shallow as CFM is?

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

When I was in Italy, I used a Catholic Bible to teach Catholics. Obviously the Catholic Church hasn't been known to be scripture promoters. Consequently, there was a lot of commentary at the bottom of each page to explain things that would contradict Catholic doctrine. The "Come Follow Me" seems to serve the same purpose in many ways.

Because of the "Come Follow Me", members missed out on a great opportunity go to the blessed stream and drink pure water. Instead, they get commentary where Living Oracles quote Living Oracles ad nauseam. “Therefore,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me" (Jeremiah 23:30). Besides, the “Come Follow Me” always carefully guides devotees around and away from "troublesome" concepts. This is what happens in a typical Gospel Doctrine class and it was essential to do the same when the members would be at home and out of reach. Truly Paul said "I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good". (1 Cor 11:17).

Alma tells some humble people "I say unto you, it is well that ye are cast out of your synagogues, that ye may be humble, and that ye may learn wisdom; for it is necessary that ye should learn wisdom" (Alma 32:12). These people had to be prohibited from meeting in order for them to learn wisdom. Isn’t that an unhappy comment on the quality of Meetings! Well, the meetings were closed to them so Alma and Amulek introduced them to scriptures quoting Moses, Zenock, Zenos and more.

It is kinda sad, really. But the Church just can't have a Book of Mormon reading membership without providing interference, it seems to me.
