1 Corinthians 14 6. Now, brethren,...what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?  7. And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?  8. For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? Close your eyes. Without looking, tell me the policy of the Church regarding LGBT people. Here is the problem. The Lord blows the trumpet clearly. The sound is never uncertain. The Lord's prophets have never been mealy-mouthed; never treading the edge between truth and woke. They boldly proclaim the truth whether it is popular or not. A religious organization can be so "tolerant" that anyone can come and feel comfortable. If fornicators can come among a group and feel comfortable as they are, the organization has failed. If thieves can come among a group and feel comfortable as they are, the organization has failed. If drunkards can come among a group and feel comfortable as they are, the organization has failed. If extortioners can come among a group and feel comfortable as they are, the organization has failed. If effeminate or abusers of themselves with mankind can come among a group and feel comfortable as they are, the organization has failed. Why? Because in a true church all of those people will be told that the unrighteous (such as they are) shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Some won't like hearing that. You may not like hearing that. Almost everyone will feel uncomfortable, have daggers to their hearts. Those who believe the Bible as the word of God will be interested in this: 1 Corinthians 6 9. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. The Church, if I understand their approach, is that wicked feelings can exist just fine as long as one doesn't act on them. This is because they think that sin is only outward action. Most sins, however, and the most difficult to overcome are the inward sins; Lust, envy, hate, prejudiced, evil designing, anger, vile affections and violence. These must be overcome. And they can be through the process of sanctification. Sanctification is not just the cessation of outward actions, but a change of the carnal man into a new creature with the mind of Christ. And, if Christianity has a crumb of truth, it can, it must be done. 11. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. But what about “love”. Can what or who or how we love be changed? Galatians 5 19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  24. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Once an organization (I dare not call it a church) becomes so tolerant that this gospel is cast out, where one must tread softly so as not to offend, it is no longer Christian. I read once where D. Oaks stated we don't know where same-sex attraction comes from. He might not, but anyone who reads the scriptures does. Alma 42 7. And now, ye see by this that our first parents were cut off both temporally and spiritually from the presence of the Lord; and thus we see they became subjects to follow after their own will.  10. Therefore, as they had become carnal, sensual, and devilish, by nature, this probationary state became a state for them to prepare; it became a preparatory state. Our whole challenge in this state of probation BEFORE DEATH is to put off the natural man. Mosiah 3:19 For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord... When we reject God as he is trying to drag us down the path of sanctification, the spirit will not always strive with us. We are "given up", darkened. Romans 1 21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.  28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  29. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  30. Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  31. Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:  32. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. The Church is a Hospital Yes. a Church is not a collection of perfect people, I am told, but a hospital full of sick people. I came down with a form of cancer. I went to the doctor. I was welcomed and made comfortable by the receptionist. I sat in the waiting room. I was called back by the doctor. He was there with a sharp instrument with which he began to dig and scrape. There was pain. There was blood. The gouging helped me. That is why I went there. That is a church that is a hospital. I went there because I knew I had a problem. There was someone there that was willing to hurt me that I might heal. A false church that thinks it is a hospital is a clinic that is only a waiting room. People know they have a problem. They arrive at the waiting room. The receptionist accepts them and makes sure they are comfortable. They read a magazine. They talk with others who have problems. After two hours, they are told to go home and come back in seven days. They return. They sit in a comfortable waiting room. They are told to come back in seven days. There is nobody, however, that cares enough to hurt which is the only way to heal. They hope that by just being there they will be healed. That hospital has only a waiting room. Their malady gets worse and worse leading to death. Vanity of vanities! Some people like that set up. There is no pain. They are accepted just as they are. Isaiah 30 9. That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:  10. Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Jeremiah 5 30. A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;  31. The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? My answer, I see a church that is trying to be accepted and shuns to offend, avoids bad PR. But why do true prophets get persecuted? They teach the truth boldly. They teach the narrow path. They teach the strait gate without trying to make it wider. They know love hurts. They are bold. They fear not man. Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.  So, no. The LDS "current position (it can change tomorrow)" screams smooth things to me.
