This is a MUST READ for all Admins, Moderators, Contributors and Followers of Christians & Christianity (C&C). Things are about to change here, so please make yourself aware of the coming changes… ??

I’ve been at the helm of C&C now for just over two years. During that time I have struggled in trying to find a balance between promoting spiritual discussion - especially when it comes to the area of true Christianity and entertaining rubbish (which is anything that is not true Christianity). True Christianity is NOT the purview of any specific church, nor is it found in the performance of any specific work such as physical water baptism, confession, communion, confirmation, or any effort made by man in the hope that THAT EFFORT may gain some form of favour or merit with God. True Christianity is all about having an intimate relationship with the God of the the universe - and that relationship can only be found in a person who places their ENTIRE FAITH in the finished work of God the Son on Calvary’s cross as payment for the sins of those who place their faith in Jesus Christ. As Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:21-23:

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Notice in the above verses, Jesus Christ is actually speaking about people who call Jesus their Lord and claim that they have done many things in the name of Jesus? The thing is, there is NOT A THING we can do to earn merit with God. Our salvation is a gift from God that He provides to people AFTER they have placed their own personal faith in Jesus Christ and now see Him as their very own Lord and Saviour. One need look no further than Ephesians 2:8-9 for confirmation of this truth, “For by grace are YE ARE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: [9] NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.”.

Without wanting to go into any further detail, the above IS what true Christianity is - anything else is a lie directly from the pit of hell. Lies that get humans to think that if they do this, or that, then they will be saved. No, there’s is nothing that a person can do other than to believe with their entire heart that Jesus in fact paid the penalty for their own sins some 2,000 years ago now. As the apostle Paul clearly said in Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”.

So with the above understanding, the leadership team at C&C has developed the C&C Creed which is believed to be the bare minimum for a person to believe, or to at least agree that they will not teach against or promote teachings that are contrary to anything contained in that Creed, if they wish to be a Contributor, Moderator, or Admin at C&C and all C&C daughter spaces. The C&C Creed can be found here for those wishing to review it - Christians & Christianity Creed - v1.pdf

As Contributor, you are permitted to publish material directly to the C&C space without the need for the material you are posting to be reviewed by a Moderator. Accordingly, there is a great deal of trust placed upon those contributing to the C&C space in the hope that they will only contribute material that is consistent with the underpinning foundations of C&C - which of course is founded within the Creed’s statements. As there 279 Contributors at C&C, we will be removing ALL Contributor access to C&C for those who currently have Contributor access, and we request that those wishing to retain their Contributor level access do so by re-applying for Contributor access via the normal Quora process (or you can Direct Message (DM) myself) stating in the comments field of your submission:

You have reviewed the Creed and are either in complete agreement with it, or
You promise not to teach anything against any of the Creed statements and that you will not teach any theological position that is contrary to the statements made in the Creed.

Upon receipt of these requests, I will then reinstate the account in question to that of being a Contributor. I realise that this might considered to be overkill and a real pain, but to ensure the integrity of this space when it comes to people being able to post things directly without their material being verified is maintained, this is the only way we can assure that the material being posted is at least to a very basic level of understanding and quality. Having said this, if a Contributor wishes to post something that is not in congruence with the Creed, then they need to send a copy of the post that they’d like to make to me personally for review, and if OK, they will be then authorised to post their material to the C&C space.

Additionally, and this is where the greatest change is going to occur, we are opening up the scope of material that everyone can post to, or submit to C&C. I realise that a lot of people haven’t been happy that there are certain things we’ve not permitted to be posted in the past, and that was to ensure that we didn’t give place to error. However and in so doing, I believe that we may have hindered what might have been otherwise worthwhile and fruitful discussion. So in going forward, much of which that has been rejected in the past will now be accepted as long as the post is stated with the underlying purpose of generating true open and honest discussion to the topic at hand. So basically, a submission will be evaluated more on the way the submission has been worded and framed, and not so much as to the topic contained. Having said that, please also note the following basic understanding:

This does not mean that C&C will become a platform to discuss the following topics in and of their own right, but the discussion point needs to be in relation to how these topics might or might not integrate with true Christianity and Scripture as a whole. Topics that will not be discussed in and of their own right are as follows:
Non Christian religions/belief such as:
Atheism,
Islam,
Hinduism,
Bahai,
Jehovah Witnesses,
Mormons, and
Any other non-Christian religion/belief.
With respect to all of the above religions/beliefs, these can be discussed as they pertain to the Scriptures and the overall true Christian faith, but discussion cannot centre on these religions/beliefs alone - as if they were in a vacuum, completely in and of themselves.
Christian denominations such as:
Catholicism,
Lutheranism,
Anglican, Uniting, and Church of England,
Pentecostal,
Seventh Day Adventism,
Protestantism, and
Any other singular Christian denomination, as no church has sole claim on absolute truth - only the Bible can claim this fact as it alone is absolute truth.
With respect to all of the above denominations, these can be discussed as they pertain to the Scriptures and the overall true Christian faith, but discussion cannot centre on these denominations alone - as if they were in a vacuum, completely in and of themselves.
If a person wishes to discuss things that only apply to any of the above individual entities, then please go to spaces where you can discuss these at your leisure. But here at C&C, everything that is discussed has to be compared back to Scripture and to see what ‘Thus saith the Lord’ and what He has said in and through His eternal Word.
All submissions need to be grammatically correct. The reason for this is that the C&C Quora space is actually a publishing house/space - and therefore, all submissions must meet at least a cursory level of professionalism as stated below:
Spelling needs to be correct - so please proof read any submission before submitting it,
The first word to each sentence must have the first letter capitalised,
Sentences must be completed with the use of a full stop (or period marker - ‘.’),
Paragraphs should not exceed 3–4 sentences - with possibly 5 at most. Submissions where the whole submission is just one enormous paragraph will be automatically rejected,
When referencing God and Jesus Christ, it is preferred that all pronouns (Him, His, Himself, etc) should have the first letter capitalised - this too is just good grammar,
Any person found continually and flagrantly making submissions that contain grammatically problematic submissions will more than likely see their access revoked - as the reviewing process of all submissions by the Moderation Team is very hard work, and people just trying to make their jobs even harder will not be tolerated,
All submissions should at least be formatted in accordance with the following guideline. The reason for this is that Quora has an internal Quality Management System (QMS) that pings a post as being of insufficient quality - which creates additional work for the Moderation Team. Therefore, if all submissions could be formatted as per following, it should make the work of the Moderation Team a whole lot easier. Here’s the guideline that should help - Applying the Heading Format Within Quora.pdf

, and
Finally, simple one word, one line trite, glib and basically meaningless submissions will more than likely be rejected. Moderators rejecting submissions requires a lot of work as rejected submissions require a reason for rejection to be provided - with the exception of clearly trolling or rubbish responses which will be rejected without a reason being given. People providing trite and glib response are basically just people succumbing to their sinful nature and being lazy by employing a ‘tick and flick’ approach to their submissions without providing any real value along the way. These submission WILL BE rejected if the Moderator feels that the response provided was in the ‘tick and flick’ vain. Repeated responses such as these may result in negative review of a person’s access to all C&C spaces.
The deletion or disabling of comments on any post will see the person doing so having their access removed from all C&C spaces. All posts that are made here on C&C must provide a person the right of reply. By deleting or disabling comments, this right is effectively removed and as such, any caught doing so will be dealt with harshly.
There will be no toleration of disrespect of one person towards another. Any person caught doing so will have their access to all C&C spaces made subject to review and possibly revoked. If a person feels that a someone has shown disrespect towards anyone, or has stated something that they feel or believe is inappropriate and shouldn’t be permitted on C&C, then all that person needs to do is send me A LINK to the offending post. You MUST SEND ME A LINK, because without it, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack - nigh impossible. A link to the offending post can be found by selecting the date and time stamp of the post in question. This will then open up a new window/tab. Copy the URL of that newly opened window/tab and paste it into a DM to myself. I assure you that I will respond to any issues like this within 48 hours.
I (or Space Champions if the Daughter Space has a Champion) am the only person who can grant a person access to C&C (or the respected Daughter Space), as well as the only person who can block a person from C&C. A spreadsheet for all the accesses that have been granted as well as one to record why a person’s access has been removed is maintained by myself and all Space Champions. So to ensure that this information remains uncompromised, I and the Space Champions are the only ones authorised to make such changes - so that when a person comes and complains to me or the Space Champions as to why their access has been revoked, at least we will know why because it would have been us who performed the relevant action.

In addition to the above, all those people who been been blocked on both C&C and respected Daughter spaces will have their access rights restored. Although I feel that this action will be fraught with danger in the early months due to some of the rather vile posts or comments some people like to make (as they show quite well that their sin natures are living up to expectations), I feel that overtime, things will eventually settle down with good, respectful and meaningful conversations had by all.

Accordingly, the above framework is being implemented with the sole purpose of trying to win more people for our Lord. If this means that we get a bit dirty as part of the process, then so be it. I would much rather wear some dirt than be responsible for not giving a person the option to hear God’s simple salvation message that I know I long for the whole world to hear.

Finally, I just wanted to let people know that the C&C Daughter Space called ‘Christian Prayer Requests’ (or CPR - which I find to be quite fitting) now has its own Champion. So please, if you have any prayer related questions posts that you’d like to make, or that you’d like to actively pray for people in need, please visit the C&C CPR space which can be found here:
